About Enhomive
Welcome to Enhomive — a home décor and lifestyle website dedicated to helping you create intentional, beautiful living spaces that feel authentically yours.
My Mission
Enhomive exists to help you transform your house into a home through thoughtful design choices, practical styling advice, and accessible interior inspiration. I believe that everyone deserves a space that feels nurturing, authentic, and uniquely theirs — without the pressure of perfection or unrealistic budgets.
Meet Alexa Dan: Founder & Interior Design Enthusiast

Hi, I’m Alexa Dan, the founder and writer behind Enhomive. I’ve been obsessed with interior spaces for as long as I can remember, but my real journey into intentional design began in 2019 when I moved into my first solo apartment — a cramped 450-square-foot studio with beige walls, terrible lighting, and absolutely no character.
I was working in digital marketing at the time, spending long hours in front of screens, and coming home to a space that felt more like a storage unit than a sanctuary. I knew something had to change, but I had no formal training, a limited budget, and honestly, no idea where to start.
The Turning Point
Everything shifted when I decided to tackle my bedroom first. I rearranged the furniture to create better flow, invested in warm lighting instead of the harsh overhead fixture, and added textiles that made the space feel cozy rather than cold. The first night I slept in that newly arranged room, I woke up feeling genuinely rested for the first time in months. That’s when I realized: our physical environments have a profound impact on our daily well-being.
What started as a personal experiment became a passion project. I spent weekends scouring thrift stores for unique pieces, teaching myself about color theory and spatial planning through design books and online courses, and constantly rearranging my own space to see what worked. Friends started asking for help with their apartments, and I discovered I loved the process of helping others create homes that actually supported their lives.
From Personal Project to Enhomive
By 2023, I had helped over a dozen friends transform their spaces — from small bathroom updates to complete living room overhauls. I kept hearing the same frustrations: “Every design blog shows these perfect, expensive spaces,” or “I want my home to look good, but I’m renting and can’t make permanent changes,” or simply, “I don’t know where to start.”
I realized there was a real gap between aspirational design content and practical, achievable guidance for everyday people living in real homes with real constraints.
I launched Enhomive in July 2025 to bridge that gap. This website is built on everything I’ve learned through trial and error in my own home (I’ve made plenty of mistakes — like the time I painted an entire room a moody blue only to realize it made the space feel like a cave), combined with ongoing research, reader questions, and genuine experimentation.
My Design Background
While I don’t have formal interior design credentials, I’ve spent the past six years immersing myself in this field:
- Completed online courses in interior styling, color theory, and spatial design
- Transformed my own 800-square-foot apartment three times over, testing different layouts and design principles
- Helped friends and family with over 15 residential design projects ranging from single-room refreshes to full home makeovers
- Continuously study sustainable design practices and small-space solutions
- Draw inspiration from mid-century modern aesthetics, Scandinavian minimalism, and warm, lived-in spaces that prioritize comfort
I approach design as a lifelong learner, constantly evolving my understanding through hands-on experience, reader feedback, and staying curious about what makes spaces truly work for the people living in them.
What You’ll Find on Enhomive
The content here focuses on several core areas that I’m genuinely passionate about:
Bedroom Design & Styling — From layout ideas to creating calming sleep environments, I share tips and aesthetic inspiration for your most personal space. After struggling with insomnia for years, I’ve become particularly focused on how bedroom design affects sleep quality.
Bathroom Transformation — Practical guides for making small bathrooms feel spacious, choosing materials, and adding thoughtful touches on any budget. My current bathroom is only 35 square feet, so I understand the challenge of creating functionality and beauty in tight spaces.
Living Room Curation — Advice on furniture arrangement, color choices, lighting, and creating welcoming layouts that actually encourage you to put down your phone and be present.
Intentional Living Spaces — Beyond aesthetics, I explore how to design with purpose, incorporating sustainable choices, decluttering strategies, and mindful consumption. I’m deeply interested in how our design decisions impact both personal well-being and environmental sustainability.
Mobile & Small Space Living — I’m fascinated by tiny homes and camper van conversions, constantly inspired by the creativity required to make compact spaces feel expansive and livable.
Every article on Enhomive is written by me personally, drawing from my experiences, ongoing learning, and genuine experimentation. I share both the successes and the lessons learned, because real design isn’t about perfection — it’s about progress.
My Design Philosophy
I don’t believe in one “right” way to design a home. My approach centers on three core principles:
Authenticity Over Trends — Your space should reflect your personality, lifestyle, and values, not just what’s popular on social media this month. I’ll never tell you that you need the latest trend piece if it doesn’t serve your actual life.
Function First, Beauty Second — A gorgeous room that doesn’t work for your daily routine isn’t truly well-designed. I prioritize solutions that blend form and function, because sustainable design is design that actually works for how you live.
Accessible Design for All — Good design shouldn’t require unlimited funds. Most of my own design projects have been completed on modest budgets, and I prioritize thrift finds, DIY solutions, and creative resourcefulness in everything I share.
Life Beyond Design
When I’m not writing or working on design projects, you’ll find me exploring local thrift stores and estate sales (there’s something magical about giving pre-loved furniture a second life), testing different room arrangements in my own apartment, or curled up with design books and home magazines. I currently live in a two-bedroom apartment that serves as both my home and my ongoing design laboratory.
I’m also passionate about sustainable living and believe our design choices can create positive ripple effects — both in our personal well-being and in reducing our environmental footprint. I try to practice what I preach by choosing secondhand when possible, investing in quality over quantity, and being thoughtful about consumption.
Transparency & Editorial Standards
Enhomive is an independent content website. Some pages may contain advertising or affiliate links to support the ongoing operation of the site and allow me to continue creating free content.
